Pro4mance Roofing & Home Improvements installs and repairs siding from our office at 333 N Main St, Suite D, in downtown London, Kentucky. We put up vinyl, fiber cement, and engineered wood siding, replace worn soffit and fascia, and fix siding cracked or torn loose by hail, wind, and falling limbs. Siding is one part of the exterior work we do, so it can be planned alongside replacement windows, gutters, and a roof on one schedule. We work in London, Corbin, and all of Laurel County, plus nearby Whitley County. Every project starts with a free estimate at your home, where we check the wall underneath for soft spots, show you materials and colors, and give you a written price. Call (606) 401-9922.

01 — Siding types

Vinyl, fiber cement, or engineered wood: which siding should I choose?

Vinyl costs the least and never needs paint. Fiber cement holds up better than the other two against hail, fire, and insects but costs the most. Engineered wood sits in between, with a real wood look at a lighter weight.

All three can look good on a Kentucky home. The real differences show up over the years: how each one handles a hailstorm, how much upkeep it asks for, and how well it shrugs off our humid summers and freeze-and-thaw winters.

02 — Fiber cement

Is fiber cement siding worth it in Kentucky?

Often, yes, if you plan to stay in the house for many years or it takes a lot of weather. If you're selling soon, or the roof also needs work, the money may go further elsewhere.

Fiber cement doesn't turn brittle in a January cold snap the way vinyl can, it won't burn, and insects and woodpeckers leave it alone. The trade-off is weight and labor: the boards are heavy, cutting them makes silica dust that has to be controlled, and they need proper gaps above the roofline and the ground so they don't wick water. It also needs repainting eventually, although factory-applied finishes hold color longer than paint brushed on site.

03 — Soffit and fascia

Should soffit and fascia be replaced with new siding?

Usually, yes. If the trim boards along the roof edge are peeling or soft, new siding will make them look worse, and it is cheaper to fix them while the crew and ladders are already there.

Fascia is the board your gutters hang on, and soffit is the underside of the overhang. We replace rotted fascia with sound wood and can wrap it in aluminum so it never needs paint again. Vented soffit is also the intake side of your attic ventilation. In a humid Kentucky summer, an attic that can't breathe traps heat and moisture, so we plan soffit vents with the roof in mind. Watch for these signs:

  • Peeling paint, dark streaks, or soft spots on the fascia board
  • Gutters sagging or pulling away from the house
  • Sagging or missing soffit panels, or birds and wasps nesting in the overhang
  • Siding that is warped, buckled, or loose at the seams
  • Mildew or green growth on the shaded side of the house

If the fascia is soft because water is getting behind the gutters, the gutters need attention too. See seamless gutters in London, KY and gutter guards.

05 — Insurance and planning

How do I handle a siding claim, and what else should I do at the same time?

You file the claim with your insurance company, and we handle the inspection and paperwork side: we inspect every wall, document the damage with dated photos and measurements, write an estimate, and can meet your adjuster at the house.

Kentucky law does not allow a contractor to negotiate your claim or to pay, waive, or rebate your deductible, and we do neither. Read more on our storm damage page and our guide to insurance claims in Kentucky.

If the budget allows, plan siding with the rest of the outside of the house. The order matters: roof and drip edge first, then fascia and soffit, then gutters, with windows set and flashed before or alongside the siding. Hillside lots around Laurel County often have a tall exposed basement wall on the downhill side, which is worth looking at closely for water staining before new siding goes up. Siding — FAQ

Siding questions, answered.

Who installs siding in London, KY?

Pro4mance Roofing and Home Improvements installs siding in London, KY from its office at 333 N Main St, Suite D. The company installs vinyl, fiber cement, and engineered wood siding, replaces soffit and fascia, and repairs siding damaged by hail, wind, and falling limbs. Pro4mance works in London, Corbin, and throughout Laurel County, as well as Whitley County, and can combine siding with windows, gutters, or a new roof. Each project starts with a free estimate at the home that covers siding options, colors, and the condition of the wall underneath. Call (606) 401-9922.

What affects the cost of new siding in Laurel County?

The cost of new siding in Laurel County depends on the material and on the house itself. Vinyl usually costs the least to install, engineered wood sits in the middle, and fiber cement costs the most because it is heavier and takes more labor to cut and hang. Beyond material, price is driven by the wall area, the number of stories, how many windows, doors, and corners need trim, whether old siding has to be torn off and hauled away, whether rotted sheathing underneath must be replaced, and whether soffit and fascia are included. Pro4mance measures the home during a free estimate and prices each material side by side.

Does insurance cover hail-damaged siding in London, KY?

Many homeowner policies cover siding that is cracked, punctured, or dented by a covered hail or wind storm, subject to the deductible and the terms of the policy. The homeowner files the claim with the insurance company. Pro4mance inspects every side of the house, documents the damage with dated photos and measurements, notes the siding profile and color in case a match is hard to find, writes an estimate, and can attend the adjuster's inspection. How a mismatch between old and new siding is handled depends on the policy and the adjuster. Kentucky law does not allow a contractor to negotiate the claim for the homeowner or to pay, waive, or rebate the deductible, and Pro4mance does neither.
